2006 Update
The Institute carries out an annual analysis of West Midlands perinatal
and infant mortality. The current period is 1997 -
2006 and the analyses are presented here
for the West Midlands and the Primary Care Trusts within
the region. The information is derived from the Office
of National Statistics (ONS) and our Perinatal Death
Notifications (PDN), which are collected regionally.
The analyses include yearly rates and three-year moving
averages, and is summarised for stillbirths, early
neonatal death and perinatal and infant mortality.
