Specialist Midwife
Kate Morse is a Specialist Midwife at the Perinatal Institute for maternal & child health in Birmingham.
Kate works within a team of 5 midwives and is involved in projects aimed at enhancing midwifery care and
maternity service provision across the region.
She qualified as a midwife in 1992 and practiced midwifery in a variety of roles in Warwick for 10 years.
Prior to her current appointment she was an antenatal screening and bereavement support midwife.
Current projects include the training and implementation of customised antenatal growth charts, which have
been adopted into many units countrywide. She is also responsible for training and implementation of regional
pregnancy notes and birth notes, which also have been implemented in various units across the country.
Other projects include supporting the head of midwifery in the development of the regional midwifery forum
and providing clinical midwifery knowledge into the development of a regional electronic data collection
system (MANNERS Maternity).
